Thanks, Karen. All good to know! Quick question on another topic: What are the total # of writers/creatives posting on Substack? Not views, I know those are in the millions. I thought I'd read or heard 45,000 a while ago, which seems low. If you have an idea, will appreciate, thank you.

Hi Jeanine, I think writer numbers are in the hundreds of thousands. Not sure where I heard/saw that though.

OMG Karen!! Amazing!! I’ve been asked to be a panel member at a writers conference in CA this summer and want to get some facts together. I’ll keep rooting around. I asked both our Bot and Claude but they gave evasive answers.

Sorry, just realised you asked substack’s chatbot already. Still, if you tell him why you want to know and insist on being connected with a human it might work…

Jeanine Kitchel's avatar

Ok - will give that a try tomorrow. Thank you!

Have you tried asking the Substack help chatbot and telling him to connect you with a human? (click ‘help’ in the bottom left of your publication dashboard screen to get him)

If you explain that you’ll be on a panel for writers and insist on getting an answer the staff at Substack might be happy to share numbers with you 🤞

I tried to find my scheduled notes in the drafts section and they didn't show up

I love the template feature. I’ve been using it a lot already! 😊

In the early days of Substack, when they were still doing creator gatherings online with breakout sessions, I found myself in the presence of a Substack developer. I said I didn't want too many features. I was primarily a writer and what had attracted me to the platform was simplicity and ease of formatting. I still feel like that!

Thank you Karen. I also have a second Substack and being able to do Lives from that is great news. Can you also choose which Substack your Notes link back to?
