One of the best "Notes how to" articles I've read on here. Thank you! Appreciate the insight and wisdom without the smarm (which oozes from most 'notes best practices' articles).

Fantastic tips, Karen. I seem to have the writing chops, but I haven't been going about this the right way. First order of business: Get more subscribers by interacting with the Notes of *others*. But I'll keep this in my hip pocket and use it when the Big Day comes. Much appreciated!

Many thanks Karen. Great explanation and love your note about what is a proper noun and capitalised.

Karen, I love your imagery. And your tips!

Newbie question here.

How do you get your image to show like yours does?

Did you use an email banner? header? Just add the image to the post?

Tia!

Hi John, if you mean the picture with the woman and confetti, that is a 'Social preview' image. When you've written a draft post and you click [post] 'settings' or 'continue' you will see a box titled Social preview.

If you click the Social preview box you'll be given an option to add an image. That image then appears on Substack wherever the post is shown.

If you don't see 'Social preview' then add a title to the draft.
