Substack Tip of the Day: Dashboard Views
Publication dashboard hack plus Substack writers discord
Hey there, Substacker,
If you’ve been into your publication this week you probably noticed the new dashboard layout.
“This redesigned dashboard provides an at-a-glance overview of your publication stats, richer tools to manage posts, and personalized resources to help you grow.” Substack
I don’t love the new dashboard, don’t hate it, it’s just different.
But I worry that it will be disheartening to see when things aren’t going well. Like, if you open your dashboard and see ⬇ arrows showing degrowth it might make you feel so bad that the process of writing and creating could get harder?… 😥
Also! All these new features and changes are making it super-hard to get my How To Substack book finished! (tiny violins play 🎵)
Quick Tip if You Don’t Like the New Dashboard
Here’s a brilliant tip from
of The Xen’in Universe (thanks Alex!)“For those who dislike the new dashboard (or would like to switch between the two) you can still access the old version by using /publish behind your substack address (the new dashboard uses /home, just edit that in the address bar)”
I got this tip from Alex in the (free, open) Discord Substack Writers Unite. Use this link to join:
That’s it from me. I’m off to work on my 30 day views which are down by 1.9K in my food safety pub (Far out!) - thanks new dashboard for the anxiety injection….
Bye!
Thanks for the tip. I'm leaning toward not liking the new. Appreciate your suggestions.
I'm still on the fence - trying to decide if I like the new dashboard or not. I didn't need to see that my views are down. I already knew that. But I do appreciate Substack's dedication to offering potentially useful tools to writers!
