I schedule EVERYTHING. It helps me keep my posting consistent to my audience and allows me to work when I have time (like during school breaks).
I'm fascinated by ShareX and I use Canva and Grammarly all. the. time. I've also discovered that the Google docs citation machine is quite good. I have my high school students use it and I've started using for all citations that I need. At least, it's good enough for the English teaching world.
I use Google Docs to draft everything, yet don’t use the citation feature. I’ve no idea why, and will test it out today. Thanks! (I’ve been using Cite This.)
I didn't know half of these! ReadOutLoud sounds like something I gotta try, if anything for the choose your accent feature! Hope you're enjoying your break, Karen!
Thanks for this Karen. Will try out ShareX, Kami and the Harvard Referencing Generator. I still use most of the others. Have some nice time away with the family!
I've hated Word's unnecessary complicatedness for ages, but only recently found the guts to switch to Apple Pages. Everything there is way better - except for the thing you mentioned, the headers. Word's headers are much clearer and navigable.
Love the 6:42AM scheduling. Feels organic :)
Thanks for this. It’s also worth looking at Notion for keeping notes, drafting, organising like Trello and much more. It’s very flexible, and is free.

Used Easy Bib with students for years. The citation machine in Google Docs is much better.

Thank you, Karen. Some useful Chrome extensions there, now on my computer.

Been looking for an alternative to the increasingly annoying Adobe. THANK YOU!
Thank you Karen 🙏
Thanks for telling us about these apps. I' love Grammarly and Canva, but the rest are new to me. I can't wait to give some of them a try. :)
Thanks for the tips, Karen!
These tools look great! Thanks for sharing them.
One of those tools were new to me. So thanks! Like you, I find Grammarly annoying, but useful.
Being relatively new to Substack, I'm going to check out these tools.
Nice list, thanks!
