Great content as ever ... and great to show the frustrations of publishing newsletters as well as the upsides ... well done for the Tim Denning likes, the content must be good!
I took your advice and didn't read the technical stuff here as still working out notes etc from your other really helpful posts. My head can explode with too much tech and it's great you recognise that there can be overwhelm.
So I just wanted to say YAY for you for getting liked by Tim Denning! I think we all need to create a "winventory" of achievements and celebrate them. It's what keeps us going. Being acknowledged by someone whom you respect is the ultimate boost. Elif Shafak restacked a comment I made on one of her brilliant posts. I was buzzing for days!
I am so laughing ..(insert pause while support person replies “the problem is fixed”, as if they had fixed it themselves)-- I love how they take the credit! I have to say, it was so refreshing to read your Susbtack because I thought I was the only one who had frustrating days--well, in all honestly weeks! Thank you for sharing and I completely get you! I have found that most startups are doing what Apple employees do.. never apologise or admit a fault or wrong, just cheerfully ignore it or you until you go away! Sorry for your frustrations -- but I am laughing because I swear, I wrote your Substack! :)
Thanks for your frustrations, I really felt all of them. "Caroline laid out her exact growth strategy, explained her laser-focused paid offer, and described her weekly Substack-creation schedule in the interview." I also really enjoyed her information. So much so, I have 'saved' her article to refer back to. She had great suggestions. I appreciate your shares!
I appreciate your honesty about the frustrations you've encountered with Substack, but it's great to see you sharing valuable insights and experiences with your readers. Transparency about the platform's quirks and challenges is helpful for fellow creators. Plus, congrats on getting recognition from Tim Denning - those little moments can brighten up the journey! 😄👍

Love love love this Karen! I guess as an Aussie yourself you must be a big fan of Tim 😆 i remember the time when Eve Williams, the founder of Medium clapped (once). I was so in 🫢 awe.
Support here is great. I met Sylvia this week because some of my paid subs had some issues. When you pay with SEPA it's a bit tricky to say the least.
Congrats!!! On your podcast. I think NOW is the perfect time to invite you for an interview Karen. What do you 🤔💬?
I'll tell you more via email.
I will also feature this news on Medium.
Where's the party at!!
Oh and how are you marketing your podcast? Was there a pre launch runway or sth like that to get on the top list?
SUPER! How's your book going? I think I'll send you the questions within 1-2 weeks. My latest interview is with Ossiana. Tepfenhart from Medium. I also have Sarah Fay in two weeks I guess it will run
Loved Dianne's interview. It was exhilarating! So great to hear about such success! And all the other important info you share here, thanks! And Kudos re Tim Denning!
What a mess! It sounds like Substack may be making the mistake of focusing on and trusting "cool" technology and forgetting about the human being behind the screen. I hope not. Technology should ALWAYS support a better human outcome or adapted so it does. Never lose sight of the human impact and perspective.
I have always found the "unsubscribe from paid" to be anything but straight forward. Hopefully they see/hear your frustration and maybe streamline it a little (or a lot lol)
I submitted my Substack podcast on Overcast.fm and no episode description shows up! I think that's why I don't get any notifications that anyone listening on there subscribes or streams my show!

Thank you for sharing the highs and the lows. Something for us all to be aware of for sure.
