Always so appreciative of your honest behind-the-scenes sharing of your journey Karen. I had the same experience with an initial wave of paid and then a plateau. These are helpful nudges to get over the hump.

Ha no, not easy at all! It's not easy but it is doable and achievable.

Turning up week after week is hard. I've written more than 450,000 words (almost half a million words!) for that publication, all meticulously researched and fact checked, so it's quite difficult at times.

However, two things that make it easier for me is knowing my audience very well and having a topic that people will pay for.

I’ve never counted how many words I’ve written, but as I’m 83 years old it must be one helluva lot.

This is my paid publication, about food safety. It's published under a different account out of respect for my food safety audience https://therottenapple.substack.com/
