Thanks for the tips, Karen! I haven’t collaborated with anyone yet, but it seems like a great tool to widen an audience and meet other great writers to learn from.

Thank you for recommending my writing!! I'm very glad to hear you've enjoyed my work so far. The only way I know to "poke" other writers is through DM's, which doesn't seem to be a great option unless you've built a connection already. So far, most of my connections I've made through comments on Notes and Posts, and subsequent conversations there. Once I make a few more meaningful connections, I may reach out to someone directly and mention possible collaboration if I can think of where our normal work overlaps a bit.

Thank you for this. I have around 6 collaborative articles in development right now. Most are interview based Q&As, but some might become articles with a single voice.

in case there is some issue with finding the audience overlap .....on my substack, the way to find audience overlap is dashboard > stats > subscriber report and scroll down. I truly appreciate you guidance! plus the link to the recommendations page is stellar - thank you so much for this post!

Great advice here. This is the stuff that most Substackers want to know about. Love your work, and you are a great ambassador for the platform!

Similarly serendipitous - I met another recent arrival to Porto yesterday and chatting with her got me thinking that there's definitely scope for collaborative work with other 'up-stickers' here. Themes typically revolve around ideas of starting over, what is home, concepts of identity and belonging, changing perspectives, personal growth... If anyone reading this is interested, let me know!

Hi Karen, you make a lot of sense...... enough for me to want to restack this post - I mention your name to my readers already, and am developing a new substack, specifically for collabs with writers who want to up their Wordkraft on Green Issues. Keep up the good work & Success with your Book.

I like your mention of other writers being "colleagues," not competitors. I am only a month into Substack and have thought the atmosphere here felt like a community from the start. Everyone has been so encouraging. Colleagues, yes! 😊
