Usually, there is a "__ minute read" notice on the post. I see Substack assigning that feature often. It will calculate based on the number of words in the post and then announce "1 minute read" or "4 minute read", etc...
I disagree with his advice to keep subject lines short. David Ogilvy, one of the greatest advertising execs ever advised to keep them as long as necessary to describe what you have.
I even tried keeping mine short. The results I think were extremely subpar.
