Hello, Substackers,
Today’s post was inspired by a question I just received from a coaching client. Read on for the answer.
Question
“Hi, Karen! I have a question for you.
The post I put up yesterday went into my own "promotions" folder, and one of my friends says she didn't get it at all. Is there a way to stop that from happening?”
Answer
Unfortunately, we don't have much control over what our subscribers’ email providers choose to do with our posts.
The best you can do is ‘teach’ the email providers that what you are sending is valuable and not spam.
There are two easy ways to do this:
Encourage new subscribers to reply to your welcome email,
Send posts and welcome emails that include a clickable link, such as a poll, survey or preview of another post.
When email providers see people clicking links and replying, that increases their trust in you as a sender.
Hope you found this helpful.
Have an excellent week,
