Thank you for this thought provoking post. So many good ideas. I’ll probably start at the top of the list and share more about my past writing and credentials, which I’ve perhaps hidden under a bushel.
Seriously well thought out and useful list Harrison (and Karen). ((I'm always confused with a guest post about who comments are seen and managed by.)) (((Clarification about this a future post for Karen??)))
Hi Rick, you've changed your publication title? was yours something like fearless or courageous writing?
Regarding who sees comments, it depends how the host has set up the guest post.
For this post, my publication is the host, and both Harrison and I are listed as authors, which means we both get notifications about the post.
If I had cross-posted Harrison's post or if I had just published without adding his account as an author (Substack call this "byline") it wouldn't work the same way.
Karen, thanks for hosting Harrison. I appreciate the breakdown on how to instill trust in readers, it's always great to brush up on what I've got going on to be sure things are going in the right direction.
Your breakdown of the Trust Equation makes it so easy to apply. Love the focus on long-term authenticity over short-term gimmicks! Future self should always win.
This was a great reminder of why we write and how to continue to reach our readers and gain more in the process. Yes, it takes time but if we are committed to our message, we can do it in gradual steps. Thanks for this, Karen and Harrison!

Yes that sounds like a good idea Felicity—taking each lens one at a time. That’s much more manageable

Great suggestion for a future post, thanks Rick.
