Nine is the best because it's most clear, though I might tweak it a little. Make bestseller bookmark orange. I think they all need more tweaking. Simple is best, but not TOO simple. Don't love the lightbulbs or the dollar sign. I didn't know what they were at first. I do like that "make money with" on one line. I'm a graphic designer, so if you need help with this, you can find me at https://styleyourstack.substack.com Cheers!
I voted for 7 because there's the subtitle and it's a vital part to attract readers on Amazon for example. But I prefer the overall impression of 9. So I'd say the layout of n°9 with the subtitle = perfect !
I don’t like any of them, they don’t look finished. I think if you use blue (which is more authoritative) then go with a more bold blue- navy or cobalt. The text is difficult to read on all of them because it doesn’t stand out enough. In design you need contrasting colors so people can see the text. I would advise you to work with a professional cover artist.
I am glad you received in the spirit it was given. I was worried it would be unwelcome feedback. I am very much looking forward to your book and want you to be successful!
I was going with 1 until I saw 4, and then I saw 9 which is my favorite. I don't necessarily think blue is more authoritative but the Susbtack orange pops much more, it kind of blends in too much with the pink.
In some of them, the “How to” is loudest, and the “make money” is much less pronounced, when that’s actually what the reader wants to do. Obviously, you can’t have three lines all the same size, but I think the hierarchy needs to be styled differently so “make money” is more pronounced. (“With” doesn’t need to be the same size as “make money,” for example--the brain fills it in.)

I would suggest describing yourself as "Creator of Pubstack Success" rather than "Author."
Congratulations on getting to this point with your book! Great accomplishment

Thanks Stacey I have had uniformly horrible experiences with designers to date, both cheap and expensive, but this is valuable feedback.

When you've come this far, and designing isn't your strong suite, this advice is golden.

9 is perfect, but if you don't mind me saying, I suggest you make the Substack a little bigger. Best of luck! 🍀🍀🍀
My eye went directly to No. 1. The contrast between the darker blue and the orange stood out the most.🙂
I like the first because it's the most serious but also stylish with the Substack logo included. Best of luck on the book!
1 or 2. Good luck! This is great!
